Trying out Fedora 11 x86_64 USB Live

August 24, 2009

I have tried creating a fedora11 live usb using the x86_64 version running on a 64bit machine.

* I was amazed on how fast it loads. 15secs.
* The installation was easy with the use of liveusbcreator for windows.
* I will be using Fedora again!!!!!
(I have encountered problems with fedora 5 and 8 on the past).
* I definitely recommend using fedora, from the very start of using linux, I really liked redhat.
* Please try, it’s cool.

My OpenSolaris 2008.11 try.

August 24, 2009

I have just installed opensolaris 2008.11 based on livecd distribution on a 64bit workhorse machine.

* The installation was piece of cake.

* The nimbus desktop theme was like a dream come true look and feel.

* All devices on the machine have driver support.

* Limited but good varieties of software packages.

* Awesome java runtime integration.

* Ultra-fast source code compilation.

🙂
Hope to experience more innovations for this UNIX-based Operating System.
